GE iFIX and Cimplicity SCADA

Bhavanee has built on GE's SCADA platforms for twenty years, from freeze dryers exported worldwide to LPG pipeline terminals on redundant servers. Here is what the platform gives a plant, and the screens we build with it.

GE VernovaProficy iFIX

What iFIX gives your plant

iFIX is the SCADA most oil marketing companies and regulated pharmaceutical plants specify. These are the features our projects rely on.

Operator screens

High-performance mimics, faceplates, navigation and pop-ups designed for fast situational awareness.

Alarm management

Priority, areas, shelving, acknowledgement and alarm history, so the right alarm reaches the right person.

Historian and trends

Every tag logged; real-time and historical trends, batch and shift reports, Excel export.

Security and Part 11

Role-based users, electronic signatures and tamper-evident audit trails for regulated plants.

Redundancy

SCADA server pairs with automatic failover and synchronised databases.

Connectivity

OPC UA and DA, Modbus, IEC 61850 and 60870-5-104 gateways, SAP and database interfaces.

Web and remote clients

Thin clients and web HMI so managers see the plant from the office.

GE PLC integration

Native drivers for GE PAC and Series 90 controllers, redundant and simplex.

Scripting and reports

VBA scripting, scheduled reports and custom calculations where the standard product stops.

Screens we have built on iFIX and Cimplicity

Real operator screens from commissioned systems.

GE PLC hardware in our panels

Real panels from Bhavanee projects: GE PLC racks, I/O modules, marshalling and the flow computers they sit beside.

Why we standardised on GE

Our founder came from Emerson Process Management and Enron Oil & Gas, where GE Fanuc PLCs and iFIX were already the standard for oil and gas control rooms. When Bhavanee started supplying SCADA for Lyophilization Systems' freeze dryers, iFIX was the natural choice for 21 CFR Part 11 compliance, and it has anchored our work since. IOCL, BPCL, HPCL and GAIL projects, the ExxonMobil Nigeria SCADA and our pharmaceutical AMCs all run on it.

Services around the platform

  • New iFIX and Cimplicity applications, licence supply and configuration.
  • Version upgrades and server refresh with redundancy.
  • GE PLC programming, redundant and simplex, and migration from other makes.
  • Annual maintenance and remote support for iFIX sites.
  • Operator and engineer training on the installed system.

Common questions

What is GE iFIX?

iFIX is GE's HMI and SCADA software (now under GE Vernova's Proficy family). It provides operator screens, alarm management, a historian, scripting, security and electronic signatures, and connects to PLCs and field devices through OPC and native drivers.

What is the difference between iFIX and Cimplicity?

Both are GE SCADA platforms. iFIX is widely used in process industries and regulated plants and is our default. Cimplicity is common in discrete manufacturing, utilities and large distributed systems. We build on both; the Abu Dhabi metering skid runs on Cimplicity.

Can you upgrade an old iFIX installation?

Yes. We migrate iFIX databases, pictures and scripts to current versions, refresh server hardware and add redundancy where it was missing, with the plant running.

Do you supply iFIX licences?

Yes. We supply and configure iFIX and Cimplicity licences as part of a project or as a standalone upgrade.
